The Employee Recognition Awards highlight staff members who reflect the district’s strategic plan goals.
These individuals from all roles represent their school / department and themselves in a positive manner.
Two to five nominees are selected each month between October and May and recognized at a board meeting.
Nominations are accepted all year long, but the deadline for a nomination to be considered in an upcoming month is the end of the previous month. For example, Jan. 31 is the deadline for a nomination to be considered in February.

Current Battle Ground, Chartwells and First Student employees are eligible if they:
Are approved by their supervisors and the district’s HR department
Have been employed by the district more than one year
Are currently working
Are not retired and will not be retired at the time of their recognition
Nominations are reviewed by the nominee’s supervisor and the human resources department. Approved nominations are considered by a committee of staff members for up to two months.

Contribution to a safe and caring environment for staff and students
Support for the need for high-quality instruction in every classroom
Collaboration with others in a way that demonstrates trust and respect
