Kindergarten enrollment

It’s time to enroll for kindergarten! Online enrollment is available. Any child who will be five by Aug. 31 is eligible to enter kindergarten in the fall. Students who enroll in kindergarten benefit from the advantages of a developmentally appropriate program.

Parents will need proof of their child’s birth date (such as a birth certificate) and a signed and completed Washington state certificate of immunization status form or certificate of exemption form. Please note that the state of Washington requires that immunization records be medically verified.

Enrolling your child prior to these events is a key step to being prepared for the school year, and helps the district plan for the number of teachers it will need to serve our youngest students.

Jump Start
Jump Start is a four-day program in August that helps kindergarten students get acclimated to school. Jump Start space is limited and determined on a first-come, first-serve basis. Families must be enrolled to be eligible for Jump Start. Please contact your school office for registration.

Smart start
Kindergartners have a smart start, which kicks off the school year by allowing small groups of students to get acclimated to the school environment on the first days of school.

  • Aug. 27, 2024: Family connection conferences, no student attendance.

  • Aug. 28-29, 2024: Students attend from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Family connection conferences are held in the late afternoon. Parents will receive a letter before the start of school about their child’s specific start time.
